  Donations

We are currently in need of funds to allow us to purchase a defibrillator. We believe this would improve the public safety. If you can donate some or all of the cost (estimated to be £1500) or can provide us information on how we could get a manufacture to donate one please contact us. See the contacts page for more details.

We are always in need of hand and electrical tools. If you have a workshop that is not in use, please consider donating the contents.

We are profoundly grateful to:

  • Thames Water for making the site available to us, for our initial funding, for asbestos removal and for providing the steam raising plant;
  • The Heritage Lottery Fund for funding the disabled lift and all our presentational and “accessibility” material and publications;
  • The Norland Foundation for the conversion of the old Gatehouse into toilets and for greatly improved lighting in the Engine House;
  • The Prism Fund for funding the insulation and cladding of Number 6 Engine and the repair of both its barring engines.
  • The Volunteers who have given countless man-days.

We need your help as well to maintain and extend the current museum activities either in tools, materials or via direct contributions. You can help by contributing money via the Charities Aid Foundation. Or you can contact us regarding our changing requirements for tools and materials.

You can also help us by visiting and telling others about us, or by becoming a member of the Society!
